Alison Young is one of the deepest wells I know. She is also intelligent, warm, and a safe space to wrestle with issues of life and faith. If you are struggling with your faith or in a period of deconstruction/reconstruction, Alison is the person you need in your life to authentically move through this lonely season. When it comes to providing spiritual coaching, I can’t think of a better person than Alison!!

If you’re looking for professional or spiritual guidance—or an integration of the two… If you want to explore the connection between work and faith—whether personally or with a group… If you’d like to create a ritual to celebrate a special event or transition…

I recommend Alison Young.

Alison is uniquely reflective, sincere, and authentic. She’s a seeker who asks penetrating questions of herself and loves to explore deep questions with others. She’s intelligent—and wise. Hers is a wisdom born of both education and experience—which hasn’t always been easy. Such qualities make Alison an ideal “thought partner” for anyone committed to self-discovery and growth.

These are challenging times—and no one should have to walk them alone. Whatever your religious background or prior experience, your faith can be a tool to help inform your way in the world. Alison can help you refine that tool—creatively, intuitively, and strategically.

Alison won’t ever pretend to have all the answers. But you’ll always find her a caring companion along whatever path you wish to explore.

Insightful beyond her years, Rev. Alison Young has been an inspiration to me since I first met her. For close to two decades, I have watched as Alison transformed into a grace-filled woman. When we met, Alison was in seminary at Perkins School of Theology at SMU in Dallas. I was so impressed with her that I hired to be on staff at the Cathedral of Hope, United Church of Christ, where I served as Senior Pastor and Rector. When it came time for her to do her internship, I was delighted that she chose to do her internship with us. In the ensuing years, I was glad to call Alison my friend and colleague, and her family became family to mine.

Alison is a person committed to the idea that all people are children of God: people of Christian faith, other faiths, or no faith tradition, people of all backgrounds and diversities. She is guided by her faith, wise in her interactions with others, and with this new work, will provide her clients spiritual coaching, grounded in scholarly training and a progressive theological mindset.

As I prepare to enter my seventh decade, I am so taken with Alison’s gifts and graces that I have asked that she preach my funeral, and that is the highest recommendation I can give to you regarding Rev. Alison Young. I encourage you to consider her as someone to call on to guide your life’s journey.

Lead Pastor, New Church - Chiesa Nuova UCC /Former Senior Pastor and Rector of Cathedral of Hope, UCC

Alison Young is able to look at life through the lens of spouse, parent, minister, the corporate world, all against a backdrop of deep spiritual understanding and life experience. Most importantly, she is able to fine tune her response, thoughts, and advice to meet the moment. Her acute sensitivity to internal conflict, both within herself and others, makes her the perfect listener. She hears you—and you know you are being heard.

What sets Alison apart above all, is her ability to step back and see the meaning in all of it. This is her greatest gift, to herself, but to those to whom she counsels and ministers. She genuinely walks the walk, in every way. Her words are rooted in experience and wisdom, faith and hope. She passes this energy on to everyone she comes in contact with. It is a true honor to be able to call Alison one of my closest confidants.

I have known Alison Young for almost 20 years and had the privilege of working beside her in ministry. Alison has a spiritual depth that is rare, having known and mined the depths of grief, loss, and disappointment, as well as the heights of the mountain top experiences of great joy. She is an exceptionally intuitive person who exudes warmth and acceptance. Her ability to help others navigate spiritual wounds and the challenges of life circumstances, as well as the desire to go deeper in their spiritual practice makes her a safe, welcoming, and insightful spiritual coach.  She is an excellent retreat leader, group facilitator, preacher, teacher, and pastor.  I highly recommend her.
